Presented by Councillor McIntosh:

WHEREAS licensed home child care providers offer a valuable service to the community that allow parents to attend work and school with the confidence of knowing that their children are receiving regulated quality care in a small group setting;

AND WHEREAS licensed home child care providers are mostly located in low density residential homes that would be eligible for the fee based Yellow Bag non-residential roadside garbage collection every other week that does not offer the option of a weekly diaper collection program;

AND WHEREAS diapers are known to be an odorous waste that cannot be diverted through the City's existing diversion programs;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Greater Sudbury directs Staff to collaborate with the Children's Services Section to provide a report to the June 21, 2021 Operations Committee, identifying funding and program options to provide weekly diaper collection to licensed home child care providers eligible for the Yellow Bag non-residential roadside garbage collection program.

This report provides an update on the status of the Transportation demand Management (TDM) Community Grant Program. An overview of results from the 2020 intake as well as a description of the approved projects for the 2021 intake is outlined.
