Deputy Mayor Landry-Altmann, Chair of the Closed Session, reported that Council met in Closed Session to deal with one (1) Acquisition or Disposition of Land regarding the Event Centre, and one (1) Education and Training matter regarding police services in accordance with the Municipal Act, 2001, par. 239(2)(c) and par. 239(3.1).

Direction was given to staff with respect to the first matter(s) in question.

    AND THAT the acquisition, demolition, designated substance survey and all other costs associated with the demolition be funded from the Event Centre Project Capital account;

    AND THAT a by-law be prepared to authorize the purchase, demolition and execution of the documents required to complete the real estate transaction.

    AND THAT the City of Greater Sudbury authorize a Leaseback Agreement with Old Rock Inc. for the continued use of 212 Minto Street, Sudbury for a term of 6 months at nominal consideration;

    AND THAT a by-law be prepared to authorize the purchase, leaseback, demolition and execution of the documents required to complete the real estate transaction.

A By-law of the City of Greater Sudbury to Amend By-law 2010-100Z being the Comprehensive Zoning By-law for the City of Greater Sudbury

Planning Committee Resolution #PL2023-98

This amending zoning by-law rezones the subject lands in order to permit an automotive service station having an accessory convenience store and car wash on a northerly portion of the lands along with two general commercial buildings containing a mix of restaurant and retail store land uses on the middle and southerly portions of the lands. The development proposal also includes three drive-through service facilities associated with the restaurant and car wash uses. The amending zoning by-law also implements a holding provision (ie. “H56”) on the lands that can only be removed once adequate municipal sanitary sewer infrastructure is available or will be available to service a general commercial development. The holding provision (ie. “H56”) applicable to the lands is not proposed to be removed at this time - E.L. Demattia Investments Ltd., 2123-2177 Long Lake Rd & 250 St. Charles Lake Road, Sudbury.
