Resolution to move to Closed Session to deal with one (1) Acquisition or Disposition of Land item regarding property on Elgin Street, Sudbury, one (1) Personal Matters (Identifiable Individual(s)) / Litigation or Potential Litigation / Solicitor-Client Privilege item regarding a workplace accident and one addendum to deal with one (1)  Labour Relations or Employee Negotiations Matters item regarding negotiations with CLAC in accordance with the Municipal Act, 2001, par. 239(2)(b), (c), (d), (e) and (f).

The Office of the Chief Coroner (OCC) was invited by Councillor Lapierre.  The presentation by Dr. Huyer, Chief Coroner of Ontario, will provide information regarding the role of the coroner’s office and opioid related deaths in Greater Sudbury.

FUS was invited by Mayor Lefebvre.  The presentation by Michael Currie, Vice President of the Fire Underwriters Survey (FUS), will provide information regarding the Fire Underwriters Survey.

At this point in the meeting, the Chair of the Closed Session, will rise and report. Council will then consider any resolution(s) emanating from the Closed Session.

Council will consider, by way of one resolution, Audit Committee resolutions, which will be posted online following the meeting. Any questions regarding the resolutions should be directed to Councillor McIntosh, Chair, Audit Committee.

This report describes the process Council and staff used to review the CGS Strategic Plan 2027. It describes the major themes identified by Council for consideration in the renewed plan and it provides a draft revised and renewed plan for Council’s approval.

This report to follow will provide a recommendation to appoint an Integrity Commissioner for the City of Greater Sudbury.

Finance & Administration Committee Resolution #FA2023-27


This by-law authorizes grants funded through the Healthy Community Initiative Fund for various Wards.

A By-law of the City of Greater Sudbury to Authorize the Payment of Grants to Various Non-Profit Community Organizations in the Leisure Services Sector


This by-law authorizes payment of the 2023 annual grants authorized as part of the budget process. Grants are generally used by recipients towards operating costs and costs to deliver special events and programs.

A By-law of the City of Greater Sudbury to Delegate Authority to the General Manager of Community Development Regarding the Development of the Affordable Housing Development at 1310 Sparks Street, Sudbury


This by-law provides the General Manager of Community Development general authority to take the steps necessary / sign the agreements necessary to move the 1310 Sparks Street, Sudbury affordable housing project forward.

This by-law provides the General Manager of Community Development general authority to take the steps necessary / sign the agreements necessary to move the 1179 Lorraine Street, Sudbury transitional housing project forward.

A By-law of the City of Greater Sudbury to Amend By-law 2010-100Z being the Comprehensive Zoning By-law for the City of Greater Sudbury


Planning Committee Resolution #PL2022-116


This by-law rezones the subject lands in order to add a contractor’s yard in the form of a truck and trailer hauling business including the parking and storage of commercial vehicles as a permitted use on the subject lands - Wayne & Carrie-Ann MacLean, 2687 Highway #144, Chelmsford.

A By-law of the City of Greater Sudbury to Amend By-law 2010-100Z being the Comprehensive Zoning By-law for the City of Greater Sudbury


Planning Committee Resolution #PL2023-83


This by-law rezones the subject lands to “R3(86)”, Residential Medium Density Special in order to permit a multiple dwelling containing four (4) residential units - Rushil Patel, Jayant Patel & Hiralben Patel, 1258 Southview Drive, Sudbury.
